Types of data we collect and how we collect it
i) Mailing Lists
As part of the registration process for our newsletter, we collect personal information including your name and email address.
We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses and we don’t share your email address with anyone else unless you authorise us to do so.
We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies including cookies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter and website. ii) Buying a product or course from us
If you contract to buy a product or service from us, we ask for personal information including your name, email address, contact phone number and address. This information is used, where applicable, to supply our products to you or to keep you informed regarding our courses.
If you buy a product or service from our website or through our cardreader service (iZettle) then you will also be asked to supply your bank or credit card details. Your full card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third party payment processors (Stripe for website transactions, and iZettle for Point of Sale card reader transactions). iii) Website cookies
Like many other websites, our website uses cookies. 'Cookies' are small pieces of information sent by organisations to your computer and stored on your hard drive or device to allow that website to recognise you when you visit. They collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual. This helps us to improve our website and deliver responsive services. It is possible to switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences.
iv) Tracking visits to our website
When you visit www.ubiedesign.com, we may use the analytics provided by our website host, Squarespace or third party service, Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

To book you on a course
To provide pre-joining course instructions or to gain your feedback after a course
To process orders of purchased goods and services
To send you newsletters or communications which you have opted in to that may be of interest to you

Any sensitive information (such as credit or debit card details) is processed through third party payment processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions.
Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are transmitted normally over the Internet and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
